Commissioning

Many customers are feeling the benefit of having the Commissioning and Treatment of their water systems carried out together, and we are happy to be leading the way in this simple yet extremely efficient way of working.

Our working relationship with Beech Technical Services (BTS) affords us the opportunity to offer this joint service without sacrificing any specialist technical expertise in either area. Richmond Hydro-Chem and BTS have worked together on many projects, large and small for many years, the outcome being a co-ordinated, mutually respectful service which runs as smoothly as the finished system/s will!

Case Study:

Mason Hall - Birmingham

Mason Hall, the student accommodation building recently completed for Birmingham University is a perfect example of how a combined Water Treatment and Commissioning service can make a huge impact on the efficiency of the finished job.

The redevelopment, costing around £37million, took two years to complete and was awarded to Norwest Holst as the main contractor and then to Briggs & Forrester for the M&E work.

The Water Treatment for this project included Chlorination to all new water services (to BS6700  2006 sec 6, ref 6.1.10), BSRIA Flushing as per BSRIA AG1/2001, and Commissioning of all building services which was also handled by ourselves in association with BTS - Beech Technical Services.

BTS and Richmond Hydro chem have many years experience working in collaboration on projects large and small. It makes sense for a whole range of reasons that the two services are run hand-in-hand and benefits to the client of such an arrangement are numerous, some of which we have outlined here.

Firstly the project manager only has to deal with one company instead of trying to arrange the two functions closely without interference with one another, this can often lead to delays and financial penalties which can now be avoided.

Cost reductions can feature in more ways than one, as the overall cost for the water treatment/commissioning can often be reduced when combined due to better use of resource and increased efficiency.

There is also an additional degree of reassurance in knowing that, as the systems have been fully cleaned and commissioned as one, they will be as robust as they possibly can be.
